Scrap The Girls #3

Good morning everyone!
Well here is my challenge entry for the birthday celebrations
This one is for Challenge # 3
White + Aqua + a neutral colour and also to
document some kind of life lesson.
I decided to base this layout on my 5 year old Daughter Emily.
She went through a pretty rough time a couple of years ago when
I was in the hospital during a difficult pregnancy.
She did not cope with me being gone from the house and having
no one nearby that could help us look after her, we had to
put her in day care 2 days a week.
It was the worst decision I ever made as I sent her to the wrong place.
She had the most awful experience there with people who did not give
a damn about what was going on in her little life.
It really affected her for a long time and it was a very tough life lesson
not just for her but for me also.
I don't usually name and shame but with children, it is important
so if you a Brisbane local, please avoid the Yellow Brick Road childcare
at Beenleigh - it will save you and your child a lot of heartache.
OK, that was my soapbox moment ;0)
I've tucked the journalling underneath the photo. I wrote on some notebook paper
and let the edges stick out to frame the photo...
This was the result of Emily and I having a little play with the camera and I thought
the shade of her eyes went really well with the challenge colour scheme.

Here is a little close up of my embellishment cluster.
These are all little "trinkets" I stock
in my shop

Here I have had a little play with some puff paint, glimmermist and
stamping. It's the one technique I will be doing a lot more of from now on.
Stamping and overlapping - it is just so simple and effective.

Well, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and I wish
you all a very happy New Year.
We plan on spending the day visiting friends and swimming in the pool.
Thank you all so much for dropping by!
See you in 2013!
xoxo

How sad that you had to experience such a negative thing during what was already a difficult time. I hope that time has healed both you and your daughter.

Your page is just gorgeous though!

this is a STUNNING LO - very thoughtful, too, the way you have scrapped it - your poor daughter....but luckily it wasn't too long term, by the sounds of it. DIfficult thing, finding good centres:):):)

This layout is totally gorgeous! Love the photo & all your details. I'm so sorry for the experience though...we carry a lot of 'mummy guilt' when it affects our kids! :( I had a similar situation with my girl, thankfully we were able to move her to the most beautiful, caring childcare.

What a beautiful layout. It's gorgeous! What a shame that you had a bad experience at such a difficult time too. I hope your daughter has recovered, as well as yourself.

Oh wow Monica, this is just beautiful. She has the most beautiful eyes and you have created a page around them just perfectly. Sorry to hear of your experience and I am glad you named them. I would do the same in a second.
